I have a PhD. I majored in Computer Science in Visual Psychophysics from the University of Wisconsin. I have had all my professional careers in the computer industry specializing in relational database design and large international databases.

VeriFone was headquartered in Hawaii and wanted to escape the cold of Wisconsin, so after graduating from school, she joined the company. I started with employee #36. By the time I left, it was publicly traded and had thousands of employees and billions of dollars in revenue. When I left, I was the database design manager at VeriFone and oversaw over 125 technical staff.

I have since served as MIS Manager for Family Health International, Database Manager for A4 Health Systems, CTO and President of Castle Worldwide. I retired from Castle in 2014 at the age of 55.

I was looking for a good way to get into tech after retirement. A lecture via Udemy provided the place. I enjoy creating courses and interacting with students. This is my new passion. Middle-aged and young people are my favorite students. Seeing them make better use of new toys and technologies can bring great joy and energy.
